SURPRISE, COACH! - Glenwood High
School head baseball coach Pat Moomey
received quite a surprise Sunday during the

with a new 2010 Ford F-150 truck, courtesy of
members of the 1996 Glenwood state
championship team, including Jayson Werth,
now a member of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Making the presentation to Moomey, on
behalf of Werth, the 1996 team and all ex-
Glenwood players, was Craig Moreland.
Moomey, who just finished his 25th year as
Glenwood’s head coach, now has two state
titles (1996, 2010), two runner-up finishes
(1995, 2009) and one fourth place finish
(2003) at the IHSA state tournament. His
overall record is 659-208. A lot of behind the
scenes work went into the gift, with Werth
purchasing the vehicle from owner Dan
Hogan of Crossroads Ford Trucks in
